Why the Hawk XP?
The Hawk XP is a more capable version of the venerable 172 Skyhawk. With a 210 hp engine and constant speed prop, this airplane qualifies as a high performance aircraft. It flies easy and straight, is very predictable, can carry up to 4 people, and cruises at around 150 MPH!
What is a dry rate?
A dry rate is the cost of the aircraft rental and nothing else. This airplane is rented from a private owner at that rate and fuel is not included. Estimated fuel costs can be found below.Â

Our XP burns anywhere from 8 gallons per hour on a typical maneuvers flight to 10 gallons per hour on a very intense day of pattern work and climbing to altitude

As of 9/2026 fuel is $7.40 a gallon. This results in a total hourly cost between $174 per hour and $190 per hour. There are no additional fees paid to AAT. This puts our capable VFR trainer in a very competitive cost range with nearby wet rates approaching $190/hour.Â
