Sport, Private, and Recreational
Private pilot training is the foundation for becoming a safe, capable aircraft owner or recreational pilot. At Adams Aviation Training, private pilot instruction focuses on aircraft control, airport operations, navigation, weather, regulations, emergency procedures, and sound decision-making. Training is built around more than simply preparing for the FAA practical test; the goal is to help students develop the habits and confidence needed to operate safely in the real world.
Commercial Pilot Instruction
Part 61 commercial pilot training for pilots working toward paid flying opportunities. Commercial training requires strong decision making, better aircraft control, and overall a commitment to professionalism. Commercial training combines experience-building with refined aircraft control and professional decision-making. Some will be solo on cross country flights, others will be rigorous training with an instructor learning the ins and outs of the trade.Â
Instrument Instruction
Pilots looking to expand their horizons will want to get their instrument rating. An instrument rating allows you to operate within the IFR system and fly by reference to instruments. It opens up options for pilots and allows for an expanded skillset and understanding of the air traffic environment. Instrument training includes substantial flight by reference to instruments. This is where pilots learn the procedures they will use for the rest of their careers.
Tailwheel instruction
Whether you are working toward a tailwheel endorsement or looking to sharpen your stick-and-rudder skills, tailwheel instruction is available for qualified pilots and aircraft. Most modern pilots don't understand why they would ever bother to fly tailwheel. The answer to that is: It's simply more fun. Tailwheel flying creates a new challenge for pilots who have flown too much in tricycle gear planes and have forgotten the challenge and discipline it took to learn to fly in the first place. This is where you remember those challenges.Â
Let your instrument currency expire? No worries! Schedule a minimum 3 hour flight instruction session to accomplish your IPC. Be prepared to be assessed rather than taught. Know your regulations and procedures and expect a challenge. If you are prepared this will go just fine.Â

Need that flight review? You are in the right place. Prepare for your 1 hour of ground by studying the FAR and knowing your aircraft systems. Then prepare for your flight by knowing stalls, landings and go-arounds. Be more prepared by remembering your basic maneuvers and overall flying safe.Â
